My Netbook Reflection!

I really like having a Net book because its faster to work with! It is really fun to work with a computer like this.

This year I have really enjoyed having a Net book to work on because … it is much easier to work on your it than a paper and pencil. The tools are always there for you when you need it. Most definitely, the best thing having a Net book is that you can get creative with your work.

As much as I have loved having a Net book there are some things that I haven’t liked about it..... I don’t like that, when my Net book is away you have to wait a while until it gets back. Sometimes my computer freezes and then I have to restart it.

This is something that I like because it is fun and knowledgeable to work with.

The Planets In Our Solar System!

Did you know their are nine planets in our solar system called, “Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and a dwarf planet called “Pluto.”

Saturn is the second largest planet in our solar system and, it has seven flat rings surrounding it. The rings are made of ice, rocks and dust. This planet has fifty-two moons and the largest moon is called “Titan.”

Venus doesn’t have any moons or rings. This planet is a terrestrial planet! Earths twin sister is Venus because they have similar size. Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system.

Our theme for this term is “Outta This World!” Learning about the solar system is fun!

My Planet!

Some of the room 18 students have been working on making our own planet on gimp. Well, here is my planet! Have you ever tried anything like this before? It's really fun making planets on gimp.

Immersion Assembly (Outta This World)

Ive just came back from a long holiday, and I am looking forward to a great term! This Term started off great with an awesome theme (Outta This World). All of the performance’s were amazing!

Team ones video clip was all about the sun! They did a video clip about it because, they are studying about sun, and about the other planets. Team ones video clip was all about the sun but, it was great!

Team two’s performance was great! I liked team two’s performance because, they did a little groove and, the name of the planets were shown on the screen. I really liked how they performed that!

After a while team five came up, and it was a laughable moment! Their group name was called District Five. Team five dressed up really funny, mostly Mr Harris because he was a princess! Their video clip was entertaining to me!

All the teams entertained us really well! The term started off really great!

My Term 3 Highlights

I liked this term because, we got to do all sorts of stuff that connects to the rugby world cup. This term was fun! We got to do something really cool during this term.

During this term, we had to do this interesting thing with foam. My class room and I were drawing things that connect to, the rugby world cup on the foam. I really like doing that because, when we finish it really looks cool. That's what I really liked about this term!

What was really fun during this term was, Aussie Rules! Aussie Rules is fun to me because it's what I like, I like sports. It was really fun during the term when we had Aussie Rules!

This term was really awesome! I really hope that we get to do stuff like that next term!

Aussie Rules!

During the recent past, we have been doing Aussie Rules with Megan, Alica and Johnny. When we did Aussie Rules we were playing exciting games! I like Aussie Rules because we get to learn more Australian skills that we haven't learnt before.

These are the skills we have been practicing, the chest mark, spectacular, drop punt, hand pass and other stuff. Those were really simple skills. I really liked learning those skills because we haven't tried them before.

We played games with Johnny, and we had a great time. The games we played were Octopus, and a game that we had to do the drop hunt. Both those games were quite fun to play! I really liked playing those games!

I really liked having Aussie rules! Aussie rules was really fun and, I hope that we get to do something like that next year.

Have you ever wondered that the five stars on the Samoa flag symbolizes the moonlight, and the colors date back to the 19th century. Water, hope and the moonlight shining at night, is the meaning of the blue color on the Samoan flag, and the red represents the land and blood.

The Amazing Rap!

On Tuesday, we had Mr Umu during the day! During the day we had a lot of fun with him and, we were learning to comprehend some of the stuff he told us, and the rap he taught us. Mr Umu is a really fun teacher!

Comprehension is part of our learning when Mr Umu is our teacher. If you comprehended that means you know what you heard and what you were reading. When we did comprehension, we had to listen to what Mr Umu told us, and when we finished I got eight out of ten on our comprehension assignment.

It was fun learning the rap! The rap we learnt was mixed up in the English and Samoan language. The rap is really interesting!

I really hope, that we have Mr Umu again sometime during the year!

The Amazing Blackout Games!

Last week was an awesome afternoon to finish the day off, we had blackout games! On that Friday some people at school were dressed up in black. We all had a lot of fun!

During the blackout games, I was in Canada’s group. We played three games and all three games were amazing!

My group won against the other team we were challenging. We won because we all had a positive attitudes and, we all worked hard as a team.

The blackout games we did on Friday were fun! I hope we get to do some more games like that another time!

My Amazing Typing Tutor Lesson's!

Hello, Kia Ora, Talofa, this is a writing that I am going to write about because, I like having typing lesson's so I can become better at typing. In my class room this is something that we like to do, we like to do typing lesson's.

During the time we do our typing lesson's, if we complete our lesson we get a certificate for completing it. I like to earn a certificate so, I can show my teacher that I have evidence of my learning. This is a thing that I like to do because I want people to know, that I have been doing my work during class time and my own time. I really like having typing lesson's!

Typing is a thing that you may have an opportunity to earn a certificate. We do this kind of thing so we could achieve our lesson that we were doing. This is a opportunity for you to try to get better at typing.

My Last Netball Game!

On Tuesday night we had a netball game, and we played against St Marys, St Marys were really good at playing netball. We were losing at first, but then we became better and we got a higher score. When I started running during the second quarter, a girl from St Marys pushed me by accident, and I twisted my ankle, but I pushed my hardest to run and catch the ball.

My netball team and I, were working as a team so we could have a better chance of winning. We went on the court and that's what we did, we worked as a team. Our netball team all had a good passes and awesome shooting. Hossanah and Vanila are good at shooting, they both were awesome at shooting. To me netball is a great sport to play, it is a wonderful game!

We won our game on Tuesday night, even though St Marys team lost, they were still good at playing. We won because we had strong passes and our shooters were good at shooting.
"We won our game!"

I turned out to be the player of the day! I got surprised because I never knew that I was going to be the player of the day. Netball is a interesting game! Next year I will try out netball again.

Badminton Is Interesting!

Recently in the past few weeks, we had a opportunity to learn how to play badminton.We started to practice some skills, the skills were fore hand, back hand and all sorts of
other skills. After a while, we started to challenge our self to see if we could do it. It was
so exciting!

When we first started to practice badminton, it was so difficult and we were allstruggling because it was our first go at it. We struggled at first, but then we started to get
better at it. I never knew that when you hit the shuttle, the round part of it is facing
towards you.

Badminton soccer is so fun and knowledgeable at the same time! We started toplay the game of badminton soccer, and it was kind of challenging. As we hit the shuttle
everyone was encouraging each other to hit it. Is this game interesting? Well to me it is!

I would like to play badminton soccer again some day in the future! Badminton isa wonderful game to play. This game of badminton is really interesting!

Cross Country

On Wednesday in the morning at nine thirty am we started cross country. The year 7 girls were up first to run for the cross country . When we started running after a while I got puffed and i got out off breath.

Ala came first, Pesi came second and Thora came third in the cross country out of the year 7 girls, and it was Thora’s first cross country run at Pt England School. I knew Ala would come first because she is fit and she is quick at running, to me she is called the speedy girl.

The cross country took for long but it was still fun to do it. Mr Jacobson told us that the cross country, for the year 7’s and eight for this year is going to be real. We ran past the fence, we went through the creek, to Taniwha St to the finish line, that’s how it took for long.

I really liked the cross country we did, it was fantastic and I would like to do it again next year.

Hi my name is Cecilia and I am going to write about my goal. My goal is to improve on my reading,writing and maths so I can become better. I really want to achieve my goal, so I can become a better reader a better writer and become better at maths.

I need to practice,practice and practice so I can become better at them. The thing I need to do to get better, is to practice and to become better. That is how I am going to achieve my goal.

My goal is to achieve my reading,writing and maths, so I can become better at it and so I can be at a higher level. I am doing this to become better at the stuff I need to do. That’s why I’m doing this.

Technology Graphics

It is good to be back to school! I started my term off by going to tech at Tamaki College. The thing I did for tech was graphics.

I love graphics because we get to draw and do all sorts of stuff. Graphics is fun, and knowledgeable at the same time.

Graphics is fun and I love it because, we get to learn how to use the compass. I like graphics so much because, we get to learn how to draw the letters of our names into animals.

I hope I go back to Tamaki College to do some more graphics.

Netball With Ema

For the last few weeks we had netball skills with Ema. The netball skills Ema taught us were chest pass,over head pass and bounce pass. Having to learn those netball skills were fun and knowledgeable.

I loved having Ema as our netball coach. It was fun because she was a great coach and she taught us netball skills.

I really loved the last session because it was really enjoyable. Room 18 was playing netball and we were having a great time. It was fun and I liked playing it. We played a game of netball and Mary's team won, even thought her team won we still had a great time!

We enjoyed having netball skills with Ema. I really hope we get to see her some time in the future.

Fantastic Tech About Wood...

I've just come back from a long holiday, and I am looking forward to a perfect term. When I got to school, I thought that we were going to the immersion assembly, but no we went to technology. I got to Tamaki College, and I was so exited because we had tech.

This term I am in woodworking. It is wonderful being in this group because I like to learn about interesting things! When we got to Tamaki College, I went to wood tech with my new teacher, Mr Grundy. First, we had to make a plan of what we are doing for the whole term. This includes making a chair and stuff out of wood! Next week, my wood tech class might be working with wood.

Mr Grundy told us that we could make a chair, a truck, a pencil holder , and all sorts of stuff to do with wood. He also told us that we had to do housing joints with our wood work so that our work will stick on our wood. He told us to do housing joints so we could get a higher mark.

I got so shocked when Mr Grundy got a chisel and cut some paper with it.
After a while I got shocked again because if he told us that if we dropped the chisel, it might fall on toes, and then Mr Grundy said that it might cut your toes right off.

I really like the group that I am in this term. I hope that I will get a high mark in woodwork.
