The Exhausting Run!

It was a really tiring moment of the day because, we had cross country. As soon as we crossed the starting line, I was standing on the field feeling nervous. While I was zooming through the muddy puddles it felt gooey and slimy.
Jogging slowly across the field, I could feel my shoes getting heavier and heavier. Splish splash as I was going past the mud, I could feel it going above my knees. While the mud was splashing it felt really gooey and sticky.
By the time I got to the bushes I was running on a very slippery  and rocky surface. Not long from running through the bushes, I could hear Mr Jacobson talking on the microphone. That was a signal how I knew it was the end. It was a relief getting out of the bushes!
Finally it was over! As I finished the cross country I didn’t feel nervous at all. At the end I was so glad that I participated in this year’s cross country.

Life Education!

We went for three sessions in the life education van and it’s all about making good choices. I have learnt that making choices can lead you to consequences. You can get cancer by smoking. I have seen some little clips and videos of people dieing from making bad choices and leading to cancer. Start making good choices because if you get cancer you’ll regret the first time you smoked.

Basketball!

Have you ever had the opportunity to have sessions about basketball? Well I have, we did ball skills, passing skills and jump stops. The skills that they have put together were fun. On the other hand, I really like basketball because it helps with my netball.

What we learnt while we were at the courts were, dribbling, jump stops and passing skills. What I have learnt while we dribble is that, we have to get low bend our knees and look up. We learnt passing skills they were, Chest pass, bounce pass and overhead pass.

I really enjoyed that session and I can’t wait for our next one.

London Summer Olympics 2012

London will be the first city to ever host the Olympics three times, 1908, 1948 and 2012. There is a famous river called “River Thames” that has the sports rowing, equestrian and boeing. Tennis be held in Wimbledon. In this city, London lots of sports are played in different venues.

What I am looking forward for this years Olympic is Valerie Adams. I am looking forward to watching what place she’ll come this year. Valerie is really talented and she is really good at playing shot put.

The Olympic Flag!

I wonder who the creator of the Olympic flag was? Well Pierre De Coubertin was the original  person to discover the design of the Olympic Rings. It comes in six different colours , blue, black and red for the top 3, yellow and green for the bottom 2 and they appear on a white base layer. While some people believe that he had chosen these main colours, to represent 5 different continents, on the other hand others appear to believe that these colours come together to represent all nations race. I have read that the colours represent all the athlete that compete around the world in the olympic games.

My Artwork!

My special place is Long Bay Okura Marine Reserve. Long Bay is my favourite place because it’s a nice place to relax when it’s a hot sunny day, and it’s a time to get to play with our family and get to know them well.

The artist I chose for this particular artwork is Claude Monet! Claude Monet’s style of art is Impressionist which is using dots and blending colors. I think, I did an ok job of my painting, using the dots and blending in color for my art work.

Last week we have something called “Taonga time.” Taonga time is something that we do on Fridays after our interval. We have rotations, and the class that I am in right now is room 21, last Friday I was told that I was in Mrs Langitupu’s class, but sadly she wasn’t here.

We have to discuss and work out what our movie is about and, we have to make a storyboard so we know what to do. I can’t wait until this Friday because I really enjoy the class that I am in right now!

Camp 2012

My two highlights for camp was going to the Swimarama swimming pools which is located in Panmure Auckland . We had a lot of fun there because I was playing football with my friends. My low light was when we had to do old school games because, the egg cracked on my shoes.
